The battery has worn out
Every lithium battery loses capacity with each charge cycle. When a full charge no longer gets you through the day, a new battery is usually the fix. On an iPhone, Settings › Battery › Battery Health shows how far it has dropped.
The battery can no longer hold up under load
A worn battery reports charge left but cannot deliver the power the phone asks for, so it switches off early, often in the cold or when the camera starts. A new battery almost always solves it.
Stop charging it and bring it in
A lifting back or screen usually means the battery has swollen. Switch the phone off, keep it away from heat and do not press the case back together. Bring it to either shop as soon as you can and we will remove the battery safely and fit a new one.
